When the police party reached the area of Bahadurgarh, one more police being headed by Shri Kaptan Singh I/C P.P. Jhajjar also joined the operation. Superintendent of Police, Jhajjar also joinded the raiding party by that time. When the police party was chasing the suspects reached the area of village Sidhipur the Gypsy of Shri Arun Singh, DSP tried to overtake the car of the accused when the police Gyhpsy reached the side of the car, Yudhveer, and Gopal Stopped their car and fired at Shri Arun Singh, DSP who saved himself by ducking under the window. DSP Arun Singh and the police party with him also returned the fire. Yudhveer was overpowered/apprehended. He was injured and was having one country made pistol of 12 bore. Upon his personal search, six live cartridges of 12 bore were recovered from the pocket of his pant and one live cartridge of 315 bore, one country made pistol 315 bore was also recovered from his possession. The 0.12 bore pistol contained one empty cartridge whereas the 0.315 bore pistol contained one live cartridge which was found loaded in its chamber. During this operation EHC Jaivir had sustained injuries. After some time Yudhveer succumbed to his injuries and was declared brought dead in the Hospital.
It may be recalled there there that Yudhveer was facing trial in various courts at Sonepat and Delhi. He was the most dreaded criminal and his area of operation was not in Haryana only, but he used to commit heinous crime such as extortion, kidnapping for ransom, dacoity, murder and attempt to murder in Delhi also. As per subsequent investigation it was revealed that he was extorting money from more than 50 person on a regular basis. In one case of attempt to murder, he was sentenced to under-go rigorous imprisonment for 7 years by the Addl. Distt. & Session Judge, Sonipat. He was released on parole from the jail for 2 months on 22.03.2004, but be never returned. It is pertinent that Yudhveer was involved in many criminal cases and murder cases.
From the above facts, it is amply clear that Shri Arun Nehra, DSP and EHC Jaivir Singh No. 244/JJR has put their life in danger while nabbing the most dreaded criminal Yudhveer.
